President & Founder of GOCAM 3D™
From an early age, Philippe developed a deep passion for video games, computers, and computer architecture. Driven by a curiosity to understand the underlying mechanics of these machines, he completely took apart his very first computer to analyze every internal component before meticulously reassembling it. This technical precision became his signature: to this day, every workstation and personal computer he uses is hand-built by him using the highest-performing components on the market. Philippe personally handles all maintenance, diagnostics, and repairs across his entire hardware setup.
Parallel to his hardware mastery, he developed a passion for digital creation and video games. He began experimenting with 3D modeling on SketchUp and quickly turned his talent into reality by fully modeling an interior design project—a defining first achievement that confirmed his calling for visual technologies and photorealistic 3D renderings.
Philippe turned his passion into a career by earning his Diploma of College Studies (AEC) in 3D Animation for Video Games at Herzing College in Montreal. There, he mastered the entire 3D production pipeline: modeling, texturing, UV unwrapping, sculpting, rigging, skinning, and animation, while gaining expertise in industry-leading tools such as Autodesk 3ds Max, ZBrush, Photoshop, Premiere, After Effects, and Unreal Engine. He also built a solid foundation in cinematography—action framing, camera movement, and storyboarding—which proved invaluable later in his career.
At the very end of his training, while the majority of students in his cohort focused on 3D character modeling as requested by instructors, Philippe made a bold strategic choice. He built a unique portfolio focused on the complex modeling of military vehicles and firearms. This differentiating approach paid off immediately: he was the very first graduate in his cohort to land a job as a 3D artist right after finishing his studies.
Eager to achieve artistic excellence, Philippe pursued an impressive post-graduate self-improvement journey, completing several Eat 3D training programs (3D Modeling for Video Games, High-Definition 3D Modeling, ZBrush Sculpting, and VFX Visual Effects), Grant Warwick’s Vray Masterclass, and countless hours of training on Digital Tutors (mastering various render engines including V-Ray and Corona Renderer).
Far from limiting himself to virtual creation behind a screen, Philippe adopts a methodical and immersive approach to fuel the realism of all his 3D creations:
Aware of the strategic stakes surrounding the confidentiality of his clients' projects (industrial prototypes, trade secrets, unreleased architectural plans), Philippe implements and enforces rigorous next-generation security standards across GOCAM 3D's entire infrastructure. This rigor supports developers seeking to secure their municipal approvals for their real estate projects in Quebec.
Fresh out of school, Philippe cut his teeth as a 3D artist at a young Montreal tech startup specializing in interactive virtual tours. These were the formative early days: his very first workstation consisted of a piece of plywood set between two desks, with his monitors propped up on books!
Despite these modest beginnings, he worked on major projects, designing interactive virtual models (interior and exterior) for large real estate developments across Canada, while refining his skills in Unity, Blender, and Octane Render. It was also where he met his future co-founder, who was working as a sales representative at the time, and with whom he stayed in close contact.
To secure his position at Bombardier, Philippe showed extraordinary initiative by fully modeling a private jet cabin interior entirely by eye to impress the hiring team. The bold move was a resounding success: recommended by one of his former professors at Herzing College, Philippe landed the job. It was also at Bombardier that Philippe met Luc Bégin, a renowned 3D artist well known in the industry for his realistic 3D characters.
At Bombardier, he applied his expertise to high-end business aviation, working on prestigious aircraft interiors such as the Global 5000, Global 6000, and the Challenger lineup. His key achievements include:
In 2014, Philippe stepped into entrepreneurship, partnering with Ghobad Hendessi to establish the original structure: Go-Cam Visualisation Inc. Versatile from day one, Philippe designed the company’s very first logo upon its incorporation in June 2014 and personally built its first WordPress website by May 2014. Their very first commercial mandate was a milestone: creating interactive 3D virtual tours for marketing model units for a prestigious condominium project in the heart of downtown Montreal.
Today, Philippe leverages a unique four-fold skill set—3D Art Direction + Field/Photography Expertise + Hardware Mastery + Advanced Cybersecurity—supported by an industry-leading tools.
Philippe Campagna-Vézina is the President, Founder, and Art Director of the digital visualization studio GOCAM 3D™. With over 16 years of expertise in high-end 3D imagery, he leads the company's strategic vision, oversees project art direction, designs the high-performance IT infrastructure, and enforces rigorous cybersecurity and data protection standards for his clients.
Throughout his career, Philippe Campagna-Vézina has led 3D visualization for major international projects across several elite industries. In prestigious business aviation at Bombardier, he designed 3D renderings of interior layouts for large-cabin business aircraft such as the Global 5000, Global 6000, and the Challenger series. In the real estate and institutional sectors, he managed full 3D modeling for major residential developments featuring hundreds of units on Montreal's South Shore, as well as large housing complexes and senior living communities (RPA). In the industrial and transportation sectors, he also produced complex technological 3D animations for a major Canadian railway company.
Philippe Campagna-Vézina holds an Attestation of College Studies (AEC) in 3D Animation for Video Games from Herzing College Montreal, where he mastered the entire digital production pipeline. He then pursued an impressive path of advanced post-graduate specialization, including in-depth training at Eat 3D in ZBrush sculpting and visual effects (VFX), Grant Warwick's prestigious Vray Masterclass, as well as hundreds of hours of training on Digital Tutors to master creating a photorealistic 3D rendering with cutting-edge engines like V-Ray and Corona Renderer.
Philippe Campagna-Vézina's core expertise relies on four key pillars: art direction and photorealistic 3D rendering based on light physics (PBR), field experience and high-resolution texture photography, the architecture and custom assembly of ultra-high-performance workstations, and advanced cybersecurity applied to protecting his clients' plans and commercial secrets. Philippe Campagna-Vézina built GOCAM 3D™ as a self-made entrepreneur through complete self-funding, without any external capital, inheritance, or government grants. He grew the studio project by project by reinvesting all earnings. Starting out at a Montreal tech startup, his workstation consisted of a simple plywood board set between two desks with monitors propped up on books. Through strict financial discipline and hard work, Philippe bought out 100% of the company's shares in 2015 and independently funded its expansion (understanding the realistic 3D rendering pricing structure allowed him to continuously reinvest in top-tier hardware), ensuring complete independence and stability for his clients today.
Philippe Campagna-Vézina founded GOCAM 3D™ to establish an elite virtual imagery studio combining artistic excellence, technological rigor, and personalized customer service. His goal was to bring aviation and architectural-grade 3D visualization to real estate developers, interior designers, and manufacturers, all while ensuring flawless project follow-ups and absolute confidentiality.
Among the greatest challenges Philippe Campagna-Vézina has overcome are maintaining complete technical autonomy to immediately diagnose and repair hardware issues to avoid client delivery delays, successfully transitioning to solo entrepreneurship in 2015 following the full share buyout and brand overhaul, and consistently meeting strict deadlines for major real estate developers and retail giants without ever compromising photorealistic quality. Learn more about the necessary steps to image a project in 3D.
The main business lessons retained by Philippe Campagna-Vézina are the importance of strategic differentiation by choosing complex subjects to stand out early on, complete control over tools and hardware to ensure foolproof reliability, exemplary responsiveness and listening skills to build lasting relationships of trust, and continuous investment in training and modernizing technology to stay ahead of the curve.
